About Jenny
Jenny Honeycutt focuses her practice on representing construction professionals. She has been named by South Carolina Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in the field of Construction Litigation, and she has an AV Preeminent peer review rating in Construction Law, Litigation and Commercial Law.
Honeycutt is well-equipped to represent any participant in the construction and development industry – builders and construction managers, contractors and subcontractors, designers and engineers, project owners and investors. She handles a wide range of matters from contract formation to payment disputes to defect litigation.
Honeycutt also handles lawsuits from discovery through trial. She is experienced in South Carolina State and Federal Courts, as well as resolving cases through alternative dispute resolution. She is certified as a circuit court mediator by the SC Board of Arbitrator and Mediator Certification.
Honeycutt also helps businesses work with government. She helps clients assess the impact of local, state and federal laws and administrative regulations on their companies.
Prior to opening her own firm, she practiced in a large state-wide firm for eight years where she made partner and was managing partner of a small firm. While in law school, she served as law clerk to then South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford where she researched the impact of proposed legislation on South Carolina businesses. She also interned for The Honorable Joseph F. Anderson, Jr., U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina. These experiences, combined with studies at the Institute on Political Journalism at Georgetown University, have been an asset to her practice.
Honeycutt is active in the Charleston community. She was elected to Charleston County Council in 2018. She is an active member of the Junior League of Charleston and regularly volunteers with her church, James Island Christian Church. Jenny has been married to Trey Honeycutt for 20 years and has three children Rhame (a sophomore at Clemson), Tanner (a freshman at First Baptist School) and Adleigh (in third grade at James Island Christian School.
